Tina K. Gehres is the President and founder of Gehres Law Group, P.C., which she formed to provide affordable legal services to small businesses and individuals in the state of California. With more than two and a half decades of legal and business experience, Ms. Gehres has held a broad range of roles including Corporate Counsel, Director of Human Resources, Law Firm Partner, Legal Consultant, and Senior Accountant. Today, she has positioned herself as a valuable asset to clients as a small business attorney in San Diego and surrounding areas.
Ms. Gehres has been a licensed attorney since 1997 and is licensed to practice law in the states of California, Michigan, and Missouri*. She is also admitted to practice law in multiple federal courts. She attended St. Louis University School of Law from 1994-1997, where she was a Dean’s Scholar and graduated cum laude. She received a specialized certificate in labor and employment law as well as recognition by the American Bar Association and Bureau of National Affairs, Inc. for Excellence in Labor and Employment Law.
While in law school, Ms. Gehres began working at Baerveldt, Bagsby, Lee & Green, LLC as a legal consultant and continued working there as an attorney after her bar admission. During her work with that firm, she assisted in obtaining a $10 million wrongful death verdict and a $3 million settlement.
Prior to law school, Ms. Gehres worked as a senior accountant at AMDOCS, Inc., a multi-national computer programming firm. There she was responsible for foreign and domestic financial statements, tax returns, enforcing employee policies as well as payroll. During her tenure with the company, Ms. Gehres earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Lindenwood University and graduated magna cum laude with a 3.92 GPA.
Shortly after graduating from law school, Ms. Gehres co-founded Anderson & Gehres, LLC, a law firm focusing on employment and labor litigation, medical malpractice, corporate compliance, estate planning, and general civil litigation. In 1999 she became licensed to practice law in California and took the position of Corporate Counsel and Director of Human resources at a medical imaging company located in Carlsbad, California.
Since leaving that role, Ms. Gehres has continued to assist individuals and small businesses in the states of California and Michigan through the practice of law while raising her three now grown children. In 2013, she obtained advanced mediation training through the National Conflict Resolution Center. Her broad range of experience is uniquely suited to the needs of small businesses and individuals. As a small business owner herself, Ms. Gehres knows first-hand the challenges of ownership and is passionate about making legal services available to companies on terms that fit their schedule and budget.
Ms. Gehres is active in her community as a mentor for the Clairemont High School Business Academy and as a board member for the associated Academy of Business Foundation, and encourages others to become active in their communities. She is a co-founder of YesHope.Org, a not-for-profit organization committed to spreading light and hope in a changing world, and is also a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and a number of other judicial organizations. When not at work, she enjoys tennis, bicycling, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family.
